|
Position Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in producing quality products. Essential Skills, Duties and Responsibilities: • Coach, counsel, train and develop employee skills. • Review work schedules and production schedules for optimum results. • Lead and motivate employees to maximize productivity and minimize operating costs. • Ensure that products are produced at an acceptable quality level. • Drive department compliance with established safety, GMP, and QCP training and ensure compliance with all company policies, plant rules and all regulatory agencies. • Participate in and lead LEAN manufacturing activities as needed • Conduct routine safety and sanitation inspections to promote employee safety and good housekeeping. • Coordinate with other departments and managers to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime. • Use various computer software to complete daily tasks (Microsoft Office, Dough Wizard, LINCS, etc.) • Achieve target score on AIB audit of operational methods and personnel practices. • Support the department in preparing and adhering to the department budget seeking innovative ways to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. • Coordinate product/process schedule and work closely with other departments. • Provide guidance, discipline and other personnel related activity in accordance with corporate policies and in compliance with applicable collective bargaining agreements. • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce OSHA, USDA and company safety regulations. • Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with all company policies, plant rules and regulations. • Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system. • Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring. • Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred. Will consider applicants with High School Diploma and equivalent experience. • At least 3 years manufacturing experience in the food industry required (AIB certification a plus) • Previous experience in continuous improvement a plus • Working knowledge of computers, including MS Office applications • Required knowledge of accepted quality assurance procedures and guidelines, effective oral and written communication skills and expertise in the areas of human relations skills and team development. • Problem solving and planning skills focused on the ability to plan, prioritize and execute are essential to the position. • Leadership skills that exhibit integrity, ownership and a "can-do" attitude are a must. • Strong leadership and team building skills. • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills. • Decision-making skills with an inherent ability to command, consult, gain consensus and effective delegation also required. • Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision - position requires high energy and motivation and a strong desire to drive positive changes • Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
