Job Description
Department: Corporate Quality Reports to: Director of Quality

Primary Purpose: To assist in the development and implementation of Quality Assurance programs and Standardization of Process Guides to ensure consistent high quality products and services are achieved that meet our customer expectations. Build reliability into our processes through internal auditing and training of our associates. Direct Reports – None Internal Contacts – Manufacturing, Sanitation, Engineering, R&D, Procurement, Human Resources, Safety, Risk Management, Regulatory, Environmental. External Contacts – Quality Management Organizations, AIB, Federal, State and Local Agencies, Customer(s) Quality Assurance organizations. Scope – Territory Dependant, Travel at least 50% Position Summary: - Monitor and direct the development of sound Quality Assurance programs that meet company and regulatory standards for product safety, quality and consumer acceptance. - Perform Quality Assurance internal audits - Coordinate and/or acts as liaison with third party audit services (BRC, AIB, Customer, Regulatory etc.) - Develop procedures and/or strategies to abate concerns arising from said audits to instill continued consumer confidence. - Guide technical improvement programs focused on quality and consumer confidence. - Develop training programs and tools focused at front line operators in support of the Quality Assurance programs and Process Control expectations. - Assists in the development of plant specific Quality Assurance procedures and work instructions. - Performs facility process control audits as part of continuous improvement and to identify training gaps. - Identifies process improvement opportunities - Finds application opportunities for Quality Assurance breakthrough strategies and tools, both internal and external. - Provides technical support to operations to resolve product issues that may arise.


Requirements
Job Requirements: • Must have a high school degree with at least five years relevant management experience. College degree preferred, but not required • Must have completed AIB Science of Baking correspondence course • American Institute of Baking Residence Baking Course preferred but not required. • Must have thorough understanding and previous management experience in commercial high speed Bread and/ or Cake bakery. • Must have full understanding of the function bakery process equipment is essential. • Previous experience/knowledge of the role and function of the departments of Quality Assurance and Sanitation is a plus. • Must have a solid understanding of the function of ingredients and importance of process control. • Previous experience in a position of technical support is a plus.
