SUMMARY This position is responsible for assisting in the design of packaging (film, fiber, & displays) to meet marketing, customer, and cost requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Packaging design; involving a total hands-on approach working directly with production, employees, and packaging technicians. • Development of FAI First Article Inspection • Maintain and develop documentation for packaging standards, pallet patterns, FAI, production instructions etc. • New item set-up • Leverages production, purchasing, engineering, and marketing to grow knowledge base

• 2 to 5 years experience packaging (film, fiber, and display) experience. • Experience in food manufacturing environments. • B.S./M.S. - Packaging or Mechanical Engineering preferred. • Packaging principles, packaging operation efficiencies, packaging machinery vendor familiarity and knowledge • Excellent project management, writing, and oral communication skills are required. • Ability to develop business cases and service requirements, while creating and managing strategic alliances. • Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills. • Must be able to quickly assimilate technical information and build solutions to the optimal balance of meeting business needs, beating competitors, and operating within financial resource constraints.
